Kindergarten - Color TriptychGoal: Identify the primary colors (red, yellow, blue) by mixing them to make the secondary colors (orange, purple, green)
This was an exciting lesson because all they were given was red, yellow, and blue paint and had to use their FINGER as the tool for mixing! They created the three secondary colors and as they mixed the colors they drew some lines in their paintings. It was like magic right there in the art room as they created new colors. After the paintings dried, the artists traced the lines they could see with a black crayon and then glued them into a triptych (an artwork with three pieces). They were in charge of choosing the order and the orientation of their piece and then finally signing their work. |
