Taking Art Outside
Goal:
My favorite thing to do at the end of the school year is to introduce some new drawing materials (like drawing pencils, charcoal, and drawing with an eraser) and take our sketchbooks outside to draw. I encourage the kids to try drawing what they see with their eyes instead of whats in their heads but really they can go wherever their creativity takes them. I find that when we go outside the kids gain a new confidence, are willing to take more chances, and have great art conversations.
